Boden Fall 2012 Picks

I know.  Boden's fall stuff has been around for awhile already.  I hadn't really checked it out since I was trying to avoid getting sucked in to buying fall stuff in July.  But today the catalog arrived in the mail just as I was heading to a chiropractor appointment.  So I took it with me into the waiting room, and by the time I left that bad boy was covered with Johnnie's handy little "love it" stickers!

Anyway.  Here are my faves.  I like to wait for a review or two to roll in before I order Boden so I am going to try to control myself.

Scoop Tunic Dress
This just looks so cute and easy to wear with leggings or tights.  I am loving the floral options.

Peter Pan Top.
I am seeing the peter pan collars everywhere lately, and I think this top is a cute way to try the look out.  I like the dark grey and the indigo.

Funnel Neck Jacket
This looks like such a cute, casual fall jacket.

Vintage Heeled Boots
Love these.  I have been searching for a heeled boot that I can dress up or down for the last 2 years.  These could work if the calf width isn't too big.
What do you think? Are you buying anything from Boden for fall?

Shop My Closet!

Its that time again.  In order to make room for fall purchases, I want to sell some items that aren't getting enough love.

Both of these are new, never worn.  The skirt has the tags, the pants don't.   They've both been in my closet since early June so I am past the return deadline and just hoping to send them to a good home!

J. Crew Jardin Maxiskirt, size 4, in the blue color pictured.   Asking $70 shipped.

J. Crew Cafe Capri in Foulard Print, size 2.  Asking $60 shipped.

My Fall 2012 shopping plan (so far)...

2 posts in one evening.  I am trying to catch up!

Fall is my favorite shopping season.  I love boots, jeans, coats and scarves.  I usually go way overboard in the fall, but this year I am attempting to work with what I have.  I do need some new things for work, a new puffy coat (although I guess that's technically a winter purchase), and the perfect pair of black boots, so those are at the top of the list.   I also need to update my long sleeved layering tees, and I would like to add a casual dress or 2.

Anyway.  I am hoping that I can cross the black boots off of my list since I just ordered the Tory Burch Nadine boots from Nordstrom.

Love the anniversary sale there.  I have a Nordstrom card so I was able to shop the sale earlier this week before it opened to the public, which was great because my size sold out as soon as the sale opened up to the world today.  Its no secret that I love Tory Burch but even I can't justify nearly $500 for a pair of boots.   I think the sale price is still on the high side but its close enough to the price of Fryes, Cole Haans, and the like that I can justify it.  Whatever works, right?  :)  The reviews so far say that the calves are narrow, which will hopefully work for me.  I don't actually think that I have skinny calves, but I haven't bought boots for 2 years because every pair I've tried have been too wide.  Annoying.   These particular boots come in black and a gorgeous cognac color, and are sold out in all but the smallest and largest sizes.

So that's the plan so far.  Black boots, puffy coat, dress or 2, and some work clothes.  Cheap layering tees. Oh, and a new pair of skinny jeans or 2.  And maybe a sweater.   And a new scarf.  Maybe I need to tweak the plan a little bit. :)

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!  The weather has been terrible here this week.  103 degrees with blazing sun on Wednesday, 63 degrees and raining today.   Hoping to get some beach time in on Sunday!

Still here!

I know.  Its been over 2 months since I've done a blog post.  I have been super busy with the end of school, a quick vacation, lots of summer activities for the girls, and longer hours at work.  I haven't been able to shop much, and my outfits haven't really been super exciting either.   I have been keeping up with my favorite blogs and loving all of the summer outfits and sale finds!

With the fall collections coming out all over the place, I know I am going to have a lot more to say since its my favorite shopping season, so stay tuned.  In the meantime, here are a few phone pics of recent outfits.

Shop my closet part 2

2 more things for sale.

J. Crew Valentina pumps in leopard patent.  Size 9.5.  Brand new in the box, never worn outside.  I got these on final sale and they are just a tiny bit narrow for me.   I'd rather sell them than try to force them to fit, LOL!   Asking $50 shipped (US only).

J. Crew Ella strapless dress in Medallion Paisley.  Size 4.   Wore it once and still have the tags.   Asking $90 shipped (US only).

I am open to offers, so let me know if you are interested!

Shop my closet- for real!

Hello!  Hope everyone is having a good week.  I have a couple of things for sale that I wanted to put up on the blog before going over to ebay.  Message me if you are interested! I am open to offers.   I have great ebay feedback under seller ID amymalta as well.

1.  J. Crew brown and white seersucker dot dress.  Size 6, from Summer 2008.  Never wore this and still has the tags on it.  I bought it and had wanted to shorten it but I never got around to taking it in to the tailor.  I don't really wear a lot of strapless these days so I am letting it go.  Asking $40 shipped

2.  J. Crew green and white paisley skirt.  Size 6, not sure of the season.  Bought on ebay and never wore it because it is too big.  Again, never got around to taking it in.   Asking $20 shipped

3.  Boden jersey dress from Summer 2011.  Size 6 (UK 10).  Ordered it on sale and didn't realize that the return window was only 7 days.   Never worn.   Asking $30 shipped

Let me know if you are interested or have any questions!  Have a great day!

Yay!

Look what I found at J. Crew yesterday!

I ran over there during my break at work to check the sale stuff out and it was hanging all alone on the end of a rack.  It looked so sad that I had to grab it and take it home.   My store was still doing 30% off sale so it was a great price.

I was so disappointed to have missed out on this bag online while I was on vacation last week and couldn't stop thinking about it after seeing shopwithm's review.   Of course I can't use it right away since its only 50 degrees and raining today (ugh, wish I was still on vacation).   See Gigi's review here too.

Did you hit J. Crew over the weekend?  I barely looked at the non-sale stuff since I didn't have a lot of time, but nothing really jumped out at me.

Have a great Monday!

J. Crew Sale Finds

I know I am a little late on this since the sale is over online (not sure about in store), but I figured I'd share what I got in the sales.

I know, its a lot of stripes.  But I couldn't resist.  What was your favorite score from the sales?

OOTDs and Kohl's finds

Hello again!  2 posts in one day!

My OOTD today.  Just running errands and taking kids to activities, as per usual.
Dress- J. Crew Maritime from last year.  Similar, and the Crewlet has pretty much the same one that I am wearing in the store right now, but I don't see it online.
Leggings- American Apparel
Jacket- Old Navy
Necklace- J. Crew in store
Flops- Tory Burch

My Easter outfit.
Top- J.Crew.  Don't see it online but was in the store today.
Skirt- Ann Taylor.  Sold out online.
Necklace- J. Crew in store
Shoes- Jack Rogers

And my traveling outfit for Spring Break.  The skirt was so comfy on the plane!
Tee- Loft
Flops- Tory Burch (same as above)
Random kid shoe in the background- Toms.  My kids are obsessed with these!  I kind of like them for myself but I don't know if my big feet could pull them off.

Anyway, on to my Kohl's finds.  I go to Kohl's all the time- for my kids, for housewares and for gym clothes.  But I rarely buy clothes for myself there.  No reason really because a lot of the clothes are cute.  I just don't have the patience to go through the racks and the sizing is really inconsistent between the brands so I get annoyed in the fitting room.  Anyway, I went today to pick up some dresses for my older daughter and ended up with a few things for me, too.

First, there's this watch.   I know its not this Michael Kors watch that I love, but its close enough.  I am getting into wearing gold jewelry more lately and wanted to add a watch, but I also didn't want to break the bank on it since I am more of a white gold/silver girl.

The Kohl's watch

The Michael Kors

Pretty close!  And it cost me $50 with a coupon instead of the $250 that the MK is running.   I also like this one that's online but wasn't in my store.  I didn't feel like waiting for it to ship though.

Here's the watch in person.  I have smallish wrists and had to take 2 links out of the watch.

I also picked up these Croft and Barrow boat shoes for a whopping $27.  They are a dead ringer for these Sperry Topsiders that I have been coveting for a few months now.  I haven't pulled the trigger on the Sperry's because they are almost $100, and I don't know how much I'll actually wear them to justify that price.    I am more of a flip flop girl but I think these will be really cute with some of the shorter J. Crew dresses like the Maritime or the Rugby Stripe.

Here's the Kohl's version

And the Sperry's

Again, pretty darn close!  I usually don't buy blatant knock offs, but in the case of boat shoes, I think its ok.  And if I wear them enough I'll get the real ones next year (if they are even still popular next year)!

And here are the Kohl's version in person.  The angle makes my feet look huge!   Speaking of sizes, I went down a half size in these.

Have you been to Kohl's lately?  Any good finds?   Hope you all have a great weekend!

Back in business

Hello all!  Not sure if anyone is still reading since its been so long since I've blogged anything.   I blame a broken computer, a stomach virus and spring break.

There's been a lot going on at J. Crew with all of the sales (secret and published) and new arrivals, so I won't go crazy with that.  I did take advantage of the sales and scored some deals that I'll post asap.

For now, here are a couple pictures from our trip to FL.  We did a day at Disney and spent the rest of the trip at the beach.  It was hard to come back to reality for sure!

Family pic at the beach.  My older daughter wasn't really into it!

This time the little one wasn't into picture taking!

Hope you all have a great weekend!  I'll be back with my J. Crew sale stuff!

Sickness and Spring Break

Hi! I was getting on a roll with blogging but got behind with my computer issues. Now the computer is back but we've had a week of sickness in this house. Ugh. I still feel disgusting but its an improvement over feeling revolting I guess.

I don't have any cute outfits to post, but I wanted to quickly mention that the Tory Burch wedges from my previous post didn't work out. They were so uncomfortable and they really weren't well made considering the cost. I was so disappointed and still really needed a wedge for summer (and Spring Break) so I took a chance on these Jack Rogers wedges in Platinum at the last minute. They came today and I love them! Very pretty, comfortable and much better quality than the TB's.   Highly recommended.

Also, if you didn't see it on Gigi's blog, J.Crew seems to be honoring OURTREAT for 30% off of sale items. They didn't advertise it, but it worked for me and I got the leopard Valentinas for $55 and the Spindrift sweatshirt for $20. Works for me!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter! We are heading to FL for Spring Break and I cannot wait for some warm weather and relaxation. We are going to Disney for 2 days and my girls are going to freak.out. over it. They have hair appointments at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and their new princess dresses have been purchased. Talk to you all next week!

Bloomingdales Friends & Family until 4/1!

Just a reminder that Bloomingdales is running 20% off until tomorrow.  I was so excited to see that Tory Burch was included in the promo that I ordered these wedges for Spring Break (going to Florida).   If you are ordering online, you can also click the link at the top to enter your email address for a 10% code that stacks with the Friends and Family.  Mine didn't come immediately so I called customer service and they gave it to me over the phone.  So I ended up saving a good amount on these and cannot wait to get them!!

Did you take advantage of Bloomingdale's F&F this time?

Still here...

But my computer is broken so I can only post from my phone which is a huge pain! Lesson learned though- i will not be leaving my laptop on the arm of the couch while my kids are having a dance party again!

Hope everyone is having a good week. Here's a quick try on picture of the J. Crew cafe capris in the Foulard print. They are so cute and I cannot wait to wear them on vacation (in 10 days, woohoo)! I am wearing a 2 and the fit is great. I go between a 2 and 4 in J. Crew pants.

Have a great weekend! I hope to be back in business with the laptop next week!

I want these pants

J. Crew Cafe Capris in Foulard Print.

And it just so happens that I have a credit to J. Crew burning a hole in my wallet.  I tried these pants on the other day and they are SO cute, and flattering considering they are a floral printed pant.  But they aren't cheap, and I don't know if I will really wear them enough to make the purchase worth it.  I can't really wear them to work, and I don't know if if I will reach for them to run to the bus stop or to Target, you know?

What do you think?   Would you wear these pants as a (mainly) SAHM?

See them on Ema and A JC Shopping Habit.   Love!

J. Crew Factory Reviews- Jackie Striped Cardigan and Bow Ballet Flats

Hello!  2 cute finds at the Crewlet last week.  First is the Factory Striped Jackie Cardigan.  Its no secret that I love stripes and I love navy blue, so this was a winner for me.  I got a small in this one and its fine, but I also bought a solid pink and had to size up to a medium because it was tight in the chest.   So definitely try these on if you can!   I wore it today to yet another Kindergarten birthday party with a coral tank from Target, my 7FAMK Dojos, another beaded necklace that was on sale at my J. Crew a few weeks ago ($19.99), and the Factory Patent Bow Ballet flats in Clay(see below).  You can also see the cardigan on ShopwithM here

Factory Patent Bow Ballet Flats.   I have been on the hunt for a neutral ballet flat and these are perfect.  They were 30% off in the store and ended up being $62 and change.  They run TTS to big.  I am wearing a 9 and they work.  I usually wear a 9 in J. Crew flats but a 9.5 in their heels.  These are on the wider side as well.  They are extremely comfortable, have padding at the heel and haven't required any breaking in.  I think I am going to have to go back to the Crewlet for the red ones (which are an orangey red IRL).   You can see them in the pics above, but here's a close up of my bony feet.

What do you think?  Have you been to the Crewlet lately?  I feel like I have been there quite a bit recently!  Have a great day!
